Japanese-Peruvian Import Chotto Matte Debuts on Lincoln RoadApril 30, 2018
When The WiseCat wants Japanese food we’re always on the prowl for something new and tasty
Peruvian-Japanese import Chotto Matte has officially debuted on Lincoln Road serving up Nikkei cuisine under a retractable roof. Boasting a robata grill, sushi bar, and open-air dining — marking the London-based restaurant’s first location in the U.S. at 1664 Lenox Avenue
Spearheading the kitchen are executive chef Jordan Sclare and Jimmy Gallagher. On the menu guests can expect to find an assortment of sushi and sashimi, anticuchos made from a range of items from lamb to beef hearts, robata-grilled proteins, and multi-course tasting menus ranging from $50-85. As for drinks, expect cocktails made with piscos, Japanese whiskies and even non-alcoholic mocktail options.
The 219-seat restaurant features a large floating ceiling with a fully retractable roof, a 19-ton Sicilian boulder between the sushi bar and cocktail area, plenty of stone, carbon steel, tinted glass, and dark stained wood accents, plus a bright mural by Miami graffiti artists Marcel Katz and Ahol Sniffs Glue.
The restaurant is now open 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. for dinner, with lunch and brunch service to debut in the upcoming weeks. Call 305-690-0743 for more information.
