Amare Opens in South of Fifth with Michelin PedigreeMarch 7, 2019
Amare boasts Italian fare from Cosimo Cassano
Debuting in the South of Fifth neighborhood is a new Italian eatery, Amare (One Collins Avenue). Inspired by cuisine found in the Amalfi Coast, its menu was created by chef and partner Cosimo Cassano of the one Michelin-starred Bacco Ristorante located in Barletta, in the southeastern part of Italy.
Cassano created a menu filled with classic Italian dishes like carpaccio and tartar, salads, pasta dishes, and entrees plenty of meat and seafood dishes. Think items like tuna carpaccio with avocado, pear, lemon and mint; pasta filled with one-pound of lobster; whole salt-baked sea bass; and lamb chops. Rotating daily specials will also be featured like spicy Italian sausage ragu, beef braciola and pork ossobuco.
The restaurant itself sticks with the Italian theme with the main dining room filled with blue, white and coral hues and decorated with hand-painted ceramic tiles flown in from Naples. Upon entering Amare, guests see the arched 12 seated bar located in the center of the room. To the left, is the espresso bar and dessert station, and to the right is the dining area with seating for up to 54 people. Outside, the terrace is filled with bougainvillea and lemon trees, along with plenty of seating so guests can do some proper South Beach people watching.
